Granite Lake is teeming with wildlife.  The most consistent entertainment comes from birds.  The black bellied whistling ducks love the rocks and frequent the lake almost daily.  Canadian Geese show up many days and other little duck species enjoy the ideal waters of Granite Lake.  The trees are filled with birds of all types and fly catchers are usually seen on their favorite perch darting off to catch a bug and then returning again and again.  The summer sees humming birds, one of our favorites, return to the area from their long migration.  Birds steal the show but lizards, frogs of all types, deer, turtles, foxes and other animals pop up around the lake drawn by the water and the other wildlife.
